According to the leading independent research institute Jato Dynamics, Fiat has been the most ecological of the 25 best selling car brands in Europe for the last two years running, with average CO2 emissions of just 129 g/km compared to a market average of 146 g/km. This exceptional achievement is the result of major investments in the innovative eco-technology that now characterises all Fiat products.
Fiat is world leader in alternative fuels, and boasts a complete range of Natural Power vehicles fuelled by methane, the most ecological of all currently available fuels. And all our most recent ranges, like the Punto Evo and the new Doblò, include models with Euro 5 engines, high-tech equipment of the sort normally found only on far more expensive vehicles, and ecological, low cost fuel management systems. Typical examples include Start&Stop, the latest generation of Multijet II diesel engines, and our revolutionary Multiair petrol engines that reduce consumption and emissions by up to 20% while still delivering up to 10% more power.
